IT之家 5 月 8 日消息，科技媒體 AppleInsider 昨日（5 月 7 日）發布博文，報道稱雅達利（Atari）收購經典 RPG 系列《辟邪除妖》（Wizardry）前五作完整版權。這五款游戲誕生于 1981 至 1988 年間，是早期 PC 角色扮演游戲的奠基之作。
IT之家注：《辟邪除妖》（Wizardry）是 1981 年推出的奠基性 3D 地下城探索 RPG 系列游戲，以主視角探索、隊伍編組、極高難度及永久死亡機制著稱。

雅達利于 5 月 7 日宣布收購《辟邪除妖》系列前五款游戲的完整獨家版權，涵蓋游戲本體、合同權利及相關知識產權。這批作品包括：
- 1981 年的《瘋狂領主的試驗場》（Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord）
- 1982 年的《鉆石騎士》（Wizardry II: The Knight of Diamonds）
- 1983 年的《利加敏的遺產》（Wizardry III: Legacy of Llylgamyn）
- 1987 年的《瓦德納的復仇》（Wizardry IV: The Return of Werdna）
- 1988 年的《漩渦之心》（Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom）
《辟邪除妖》系列在角色扮演游戲發展史上占據重要地位。兩位聯合創作者 Robert Woodhead 與 Andrew Greenberg 于上世紀 80 年代打造了這一系列，將桌面角色扮演體驗首次完整帶入個人電腦平臺。
Woodhead 表示，當時的游戲產業尚處萌芽期，《辟邪除妖》是最早將角色扮演體驗帶給 PC 和主機玩家的作品之一。遺憾的是，Greenberg 已于 2024 年 8 月去世，享年 67 歲。
