當地時間5月4日，美國中央司令部表示，在美國海軍導彈驅逐艦在海灣地區執行任務之際，兩艘懸掛美國國旗的商船已通過霍爾木茲海峽。
美國中央司令部在一份聲明中稱：“美軍正在積極協助恢復商業航運通行的相關努力。”
